Tracheotomy in Myotubular Myopathy with Respiratory Difficulty: Case Report

Abstract

|
With increases in long-term ventilator dependency because of increased survival rates for prematurity and congenital abnormality, overall rate of the pediatric tracheotomy for permanent airway security in these patients is increased recently. But to prevent complications of tracheotomy in these patients especially, thorough airway management and proper care including surgical technique are indispensible. We controlled respiratory distress in a infant previously diagnosed with myotubular myopathy by performing a tracheotomy. Here, we report this case, with an appropriate review.
